Mrs. Gloria Bacharach was my next door neighbor when I was growing up. She gave me my first job as a baby sitter for her children. I was fairly young but since my mother was next door and watched for my "signal" if I needed help, I became adept at the responsibility.
When I gave up babysitting for other pursuits, Mrs. Bacharach still kept a soft spot in her heart for me. Fast forward now - I'm 21 years old and engaged to marry. A bridal shower was hosted by Gloria in her home for the neighborhood women.
I always felt Gloria had a soft spot in her heart for me and my younger sister, Suzanne.
Lucky us to be neighbors with the Bacharach Family.

Beauty lies in the life that one has lived but a greater beauty is the hope we have in God’s promises. So with hearts filled with sadness may we remember Gloria as that smiling light, that glimmer of encouragement, that shining example of caring that touched the lives of so many and was much appreciated by all. She will long be remembered, not only by family and friends but also by God who never forgets one's loving acts of kindness. John 5:28,29; Psalm 37:11, 29
