Trudy Maria Quinn passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2023 with loved ones at her side.
Trudy was born on September 28, 1927 to Maria and Aloise Mayer in Marchegg, Austria.
The family moved to Vienna and then on to Wiener Neustadt, Austria, where Trudy attended high school and one year of college.
During World War II, at age 18, Trudy and her mother fled to Salzburg, Austria, riding on the American Army’s ‘big cannons.’ In Salzburg she met her future husband, American serviceman Tommy Quinn at a St. Patrick’s Day dance.
In 1949 Tommy and Trudy were married in Reseda, California, where they lived for 10 years before their son Michael was born in 1959.
In 1962 the family moved to Portland, Oregon. The next year Trudy’s beloved husband Tommy passed away.
Trudy worked at Kaiser Permanente for over 30 years. She led an active life enjoying her many friends, the outdoors, skiing, hiking, traveling, swimming, gardening, birdwatching, and a good ‘highball.’
As she slowed down she enjoyed watching her favorite TV show- “How To Catch a Smuggler.”
The devoted and beloved mother is survived by her son Michael.
