Perry M. Shimamoto, (66), of Kona, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on March 3rd in Clackamas Oregon surrounded by family. Perry loved spending time with his wife and 6 children, but would often be seen fishing, fixing broken vehicles, bowling, and picking coffee. Perry and his wife Bernadette (Estoy), moved from Kailua-Kona Hawaii to Auburn Washington in 2014, then later to Oregon City in 2016. Perry was a kind and hardworking father, but loved watching his 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren grow.
Perry is survived by his wife and children, Rynelle Shimamoto, Corynne (Efren) Mercado, Lance (Jessie) Shimamoto, Patrick Shimamoto, Cherish (Kalolo) Tuihalafatai, and Chelsey Shimamoto. He is also survived by his brothers George (Nobuko) Shimamoto, and Robert (Deeann) Shimamoto, along with sisters Mae Daily, Betsy Olores, Rose Watanabe, and Lillian Abe.
Services will be held in South Kona later this summer so that those living in the mainland and outer islands can plan to attend. As Perry liked to say “I’ll see you when I see you” which we all know is never good bye, but he will be missed.
We love you dad!
