Girard Y. M. Kim

Girard Y. M. Kim passed away Feb. 11, 2023 surrounded by loved ones at Salem Health Hospital after a stroke and a short battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; children, Vance, Chris and Lisa; grandchildren, Tanu, Josh, Micah, Moani-Keala, Kealani and Jayden.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at Holman’s Funeral Service, 2610 S.E. Hawthorne Blvd., Portland. Hawaii memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. (Hawaii time) Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Nu’uanu Mortuary in Honolulu, with burial to follow in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests a donation in Girard’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or the American Cancer Society.
