George Spada

George Spada, 80, of Portland, Ore., passed away peacefully at home with his family around him June 29, 2023.He attended Jesuit High School and was in the 1st full graduating class. After high school he attended the University of Portland where he met his wife and later joined the Army Reserve. George took over the family produce business and was a well-known businessman and exporter in the community. He loved to water ski, fly planes, ride in hot air balloons, play golf, and spend time with family and friends. George was very proud of his Italian heritage and worked on fundraisers for scholarship programs. George made friends wherever he went, was deeply devoted to his family and friends and will be missed by all. George is survived by his wife, Marietta; his children, Fred, Caprice Spada-Willingham and husband, Darrin Willingham Sr.; grandchildren, Caprietta, DJ, and wife Elexis; and great-granddaughter, Cavani. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and Dementia approximately 7 years ago. The family requests donations be made to Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon or Friends of Hopewell House. There will be a private interment with a celebration of life at a later date.
