Virginia Krekel Spraker

September 29, 1943 - June 9, 2018

Virginia “Jenny “ Krekel Spraker, a long time resident of the Portland area, passed away Saturday the 9th of June resting peacefully in her home. 


Born September 29, 1943 in Queens, NY. 

Jenny had many interests and many proud moments. She was Homecoming Queen her senior year of high school. Received a Bachelor degree in Biology from Portland State University in 1997. She loved working with animals- from rescuing dolphins at Mote Marine in Sarasota, raising hand fed Budgies and Parakeets for families in the Pacific Northwest and volunteering at a therapeutic Horse facility. She always had animals surrounding her. 


Jenny a devoted mother and grandmother was always pouring out of herself fully without expectation. She also lived this out in her daily service to others. Everyone wanted to be around her. Her giggle was infectious. Her radiant beautiful face lit up a room. She loved to share fun stories. Her energy was always Positive and attractive. 


Jenny fought through many physical ailments with indomitable will and amazing strength. Never complaining. She smiled through it all. Even when times were the toughest, she found ways to comfort others and bring them to smile.


Jenny is survived by her two sons, Brett and Bobby. Her grandson Seth. All of whom live in Florida. Dedicated to live out her loving spirit with purpose to lift others up as Jenny “Grammy” did so well.

Holman Funeral Service in Portland has been entrusted with final arrangements.


Ahavai Sholom cemetery of Portland will be her final resting place. Near the love of her life Ari Norman.
