Robert Hampel, Born June , 8th 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri; died February, 26th 2017 at his home in Tualatin, Oregon. Husband of Rosalyn Hampel, father of Ryan and Mackenzie Hampel. Son of Robert and Jacqueline Hampel, son also to Larry Conlon. Brother of Barry and Larry Hampel, Lori Bryan, Joanne Martin, and Danny Scrivan.
Robert Hampel, Renaissance Man: musician, mathematician, artist, photographer, engineer, craftsman, could build anything, lover of everything, kindest of hearts, could make anyone laugh, knew no strangers.
A well loved man; he would stop everything to help someone in need. He was a fierce, passionate father who loved his children with everything he had. He loved, honored, and cherished his wife. He had a look of love that would pierce through you, and you would know how much he cared for you.
His passions guided his life; they were vast and numerous. Apart from his family, nothing rivaled his love of travel and discovery. He never stopped trying to live. The words Never and Can’t were not a part of his vocabulary.
You could never miss him in his white and blue on the pool deck, silently rooting on his favorite swimmers.
He will be missed by all who were blessed enough to have known him.
Instead of flowers, donate to the American Lung Association, and the ACLU, he would have wanted it that way. Have a party in his memory.
