Jacy Claire Frison, 100, of Portland, Oregon and most recently of Port Orchard, Washington passed away on December 20, 2017 peacefully in her sleep from age related causes. She was born to James and Edna Austin on March 17, 1917 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and was raised in Portland, Oregon. She graduated from Commerce High School (now known as Cleveland) in 1934 and continued her education to become a shorthand reporter and legal stenographer for the Internal Revenue Service where she spent the majority of her working years. As a shorthand reporter, she took statements from incarcerated criminals who the IRS was prosecuting. After retiring from the IRS she worked as a secretarial aide to several Washington State politicians during the legislative sessions.
Early in her career she met and then married William Frison in May 1945. They had two daughters, Linda Frison and Janet Frison Losinger. Between the two daughters she had five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In their retirement Jacy and Bill enjoyed travelling to visit their children and grandchildren as well as taking trips to Hawaii and Reno with friends. Jacy loved playing Bingo, Bunko and doing crossword puzzles and volunteering in the community.
A memorial service is planned at Tabor Heights United Methodist Church, 6161 S. E. Stark Street, Portland, Oregon on January 6, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. Memorial donations in Jacy’s name can be made to the Kitsap County Franciscan Hospice.
