Beatrice Julia Nutting, age 84, of Portland, Oregon passed away August 24, 2017. Bea was born to Andrew and Thelma Oman in Portland, Oregon on July 18, 1933 joining brothers William and Alfred. Bea grew up in Portland, Gobel, and Gresham, Oregon, where she attended Lynch Grade School and Gresham High School. Bea was preceded in death by her parents and brothers.
Bea was married in 1951 to Derald Nutting and they were together for 46 years until his passing in 1997. They had three children together, Don in 1954, Julia in 1955, and Ron in 1959. The family spent many happy times together camping and enjoying other activities as the kids grew up.
Bea received her GED, and worked in the furniture industry as a seamstress for many years, and in later years as an office clerk and supervisor. Bea enjoyed music and she would play the organ and sing for family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafting, and she was a great cook. Bea had a great sense of humor and was always up for a good joke. She had many good friends who she enjoyed spending time with visiting, playing games and gambling. Bea was an animal lover, and is now in heaven with her cat Kissy.
Bea’s survivors include her children; Don (Ruth), Julie (Jim), and Ron, five grandchildren; Greg (Tracy), Brad (Danielle), Sarah (Josh), Amber (Kyle) and Crystal (Jeremiah), as well as seven great grandchildren; Logan, Austin, Grace, Ady, Dean, Anna and Aaron. Bea was lovingly known as GG Nut.
