Anthony "Tony" Louis Cozzetto

September 13, 1956 - February 7, 2018

Anthony “Tony” Louis Cozzetto passed away on Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 due to heart complications at his home in La Center, Washington. He was born on September 13th, 1956 in Anchorage, Alaska to James and Elaine (Camp) Cozzetto.

Tony graduated from Washington High School in Portland, Oregon in 1974. He started working for his family’s business, Metropolitan Disposal Corporation, at a young age. He was married on August 28th, 1986 in Portland, Oregon to Lea Slowinski. They had four children together before their separation in 1997. After leaving MDC, he began working for Metro Metals NW as a dispatch manager, and after 12 years he retired in 2016. Tony bought Annie’s Berry Farm in La Center, Washington in 2003 where he found a new passion and sense of peace.

There is no way to count the number of lives that Tony touched throughout his life. He would have done absolutely anything for his family, friends or anyone else in need. He was a father, a brother, a son, a friend, a mentor, and an inspiration to so many people who looked to him for guidance. He made friends in the most unlikely of places and was loved by everyone around him.

With his dog JoJo by his side, Tony was always ready for his next adventure. He cherished family getaways, and his favorite thing in life was simply to have his family sharing space, sharing laughter, love, and happiness. He had a passion for traveling, and in more recent years had visited Hawaii, Peru, Belize, Italy, Mexico, and as many U.S. states as he could. He also frequently made trips to Tacoma and Bellingham, Washington to visit his daughters.

Tony is survived by his beloved four children; daughter Ashley, son Louis, daughter Olivia VanNatta and her husband Justin, and daughter Ava; He will be fondly remembered through stories by his one grandchild, Nigel Anthony James VanNatta. He is also survived by his mother Elaine (Camp) Cozzetto, and his four siblings, Patti Cozzetto Yeager, James Jr., Andy and his wife Juleigh, and Lori Cozzetto-Small and her husband Tim. He will be missed by his former wife and mother to his children, Lea (Slowinski) Cozzetto, and his canine companion, JoJo. Tony was preceded in death by his father, James Cozzetto.
